Obsession Quest Wood Bison

WEATHER = Extremely nice! Kinda cool (50 degrees, down to 40′s sometime) during the evening and warmed up during the day to 70 degrees. Rained a couple of times but no big deal.

ABOUT THIS HUNT:
Where I was hunting, the Wood Buffalo Park, you can’t actually hunt the animal in the park so you have to wait till they come out looking for food.

If you’re lucky they cross the river where it’s legal to hunt them. Timing is everything and the timing was just perfect. The method of hunting these animals is basically hopping on a four wheeler and traveling around glassing the meadows that ring the Wood Buffalo Park. We passed up a half dozen or so until we located what looked to be a very respectable animal.

I locked him in my Swarovski scope and fired off a round from my Browning A-bolt 300 WSM. My Wood Bison went straight down. Four hours later he was boned out, life sized and the meat was on it’s way back to town, Killed this awesome 2500 lb animal on my Grandson’s birthday 6.6.05
